The Corporate Housing Providers Association (CHPA) is an organization that AHI Corporate Housing has been involved with for several years. They are a great resource for the corporate housing industry and we are truly grateful for their support year after year.
The 2019 CHPA conference has wrapped and was a great success in stunning Puerto Rico. More than 500 corporate housing professionals from around the world came together in San Juan to network, learn and share industry insights. Here is a brief recap from our team that attended.
Carol Hooper, a sales manager with AHI Corporate Housing for over 20 years describes a peaceful atmosphere surrounding this year’s tropical venue, the Sheraton Puerto Rico Hotel & Casino.
“We watched cruise ships enter the harbor from room windows and pool deck. The weather was 72-82 degrees with gentle breezes,” said Carol.
Meanwhile on the main land……
All weather jokes aside, this was the perfect opportunity for our team to relax and enjoy learning from fellow corporate housing experts, colleagues and friends. The conference included several team-building activities. Here are a few favorites.
Brittany Wallace, from our AHI Corporate Housing office in Huntsville said, “The Operations class was my favorite. I was able to make some great contacts and bring some great ideas back for the Huntsville office that we have already put in place to start using.” Carol Hooper liked the marketing workshop and was the coach for her team affectionately named, the Crimson Tide. A nod to her home state for sure! She said they worked different scenarios for mock sales situations in 15 minutes. You competed against another team on the same scenario to win points. There were three rounds involving 8 teams and Crimson Tide came in third place.
We asked Cheri Jenkins, VP of Operations for AHI Corporate Housing what she learned about corporate housing that she didn’t know before this trip and she said, “ The buzz word was Artificial Intelligence or AI this year. I learned how we can start incorporating it in our daily operations, corporate apartments and online booking platforms.”
There are so many people to thank when you attend an international event such as this conference. There are people and organizations that spend countless hours making sure your experience is a good one. Much like how we put time and care into our apartments for our guests. We asked the team went above and beyond to make their stay a pleasant one.
Carol says the CHPA Staff was amazing.
“ They work tirelessly to produce an interactive, educational conference for all size corporate housing companies with great opportunities for one-on-one interaction between conference attendees,” she added.
A highlight of the conference is always CHPA’s Tower of Excellence Awards, which celebrate achievements in the corporate housing industry. Cheri says this was one of her most memorable moments. “It was great to see all of the other providers win their categories. They all deserved it.”
The entire AHI Corporate Housing family would like to congratulate all of the winners as well.
